Dr. Victor Hong is the medical director of the psychiatric emergency services and assistant professor of psychiatry at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. In addition to doing clinical work in the emergency room, he also treats students at the University of Michigan through the campus health services, and manages psychiatric care for the student athletes. His educational and research interests are in the areas of emergency psychiatry, suicide prevention, borderline personality disorder, college mental health, and the intersection of all of those. He and his colleagues were recently awarded a SAMHSA grant to provide technical assistance to other health systems in Michigan and optimize emergency psychiatric care in the state.
