Tonya Darner, MBA, is Market Chief Executive Officer of UP Health System – Marquette and UP Health System – Bell, having taken on the expanded dual-hospital role in June 2025 after being named permanent CEO of Marquette in December 2023 (UP Health System, Radio Results Network). She brings more than 25 years of healthcare experience, beginning with a 20-year career in the U.S. Air Force, where she rose to 4th Medical Operations Squadron Superintendent in 2007. After retiring from the military in 2011, she moved to Marquette and held progressive leadership roles at UPHS – Marquette, later serving as COO of Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wisconsin before returning to Marquette as COO in 2021. Darner holds a bachelor’s degree in human resource management from Mount Olive College and an MBA from Liberty University.
