Ruth Mageria
CEO and Executive Director of CROS Ministries
Ruth Mageria is the CEO and Executive Director of CROS Ministries, a nonprofit that works to ensure access to healthy food for people facing hunger across Palm Beach and surrounding counties. Originally from Kenya, she has served the organization for more than two decades in various roles, including camp coordinator, food pantry coordinator, and director of volunteers and congregational development before stepping into executive leadership in 2014.
Deeply involved in local food security and human services, Ruth has served on Palm Beach County’s Disaster Preparedness and Food Security Committee, the Human Services Coalition of Palm Beach County (where she is currently treasurer), and the local Emergency Food and Shelter Program board. She also brings international development and fundraising experience from her work in Kenya, where she consulted with churches and nonprofits on mobilizing resources and corporate social responsibility partnerships.
Ruth holds a B.A. in Education and Biblical Studies from Daystar University in Nairobi and an M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education from Towson University in Baltimore, and is an alumna of Leadership Palm Beach County, Class of 2015. She lives in West Palm Beach with her son and continues to champion collaborative, community-based responses to hunger and poverty through CROS Ministries’ pantries, hot meal programs, and fresh produce recovery initiatives.
