Preston Alexander

Preston Alexander is co-founder and CEO of Forward Slash / Health, a company that helps physicians start, grow and protect independent private practices. His mission is simple: put the power back in the hands of clinicians to run their own practices.

Preston began his career as a product manager for global medical device companies. He went on to launch and sell a medical device company of his own. That experience gave him a rare combination of entrepreneurial instinct and healthcare finance expertise, which he now applies to the challenges facing doctors who want to stay independent.

Under his leadership, Forward Slash introduced Forward Slash / CFO, a financial platform built to help doctors keep more of their margin. Preston also writes The Healthcare Breakdown, a newsletter that untangles the economics of healthcare and the payment system behind it.

A frequent podcast guest and speaker, he presented “After the Takeover: Lessons in Survival and Rebuilding” at the Association for Independent Medicine’s inaugural independent physician event. He speaks candidly about insurers controlling physician reimbursement and patient care.
