Matt Elliott is the Founder and CEO of Blue Lake Ideas, a Detroit-based advisory firm helping CEOs, boards, and leadership teams navigate complexity and drive durable growth. He spent 35 years in banking, capping his career as President of Bank of America Michigan for 14 years, where he led teams across nine states and deployed more than $35 billion in sustainable capital. Since launching Blue Lake Ideas in 2025, Matt has developed The Power of &™, a leadership framework detailed in his forthcoming book, “Overloaded: Recapturing Leadership Capacity with The Power of &™,” which helps leaders move beyond either/or thinking under pressure. A prominent Michigan civic leader, Matt chaired the 2023 Mackinac Policy Conference and the Detroit Regional Chamber Board in 2024, and co-chairs Michigan State University’s Green and White Council. He is a graduate of Michigan State University and the University of Chicago.
