Louis Shapiro

Former President and CEO of Hospital for Special Surgery (HHS)

Lou Shapiro is the former President and CEO of Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), where he served for 17 years and helped build it into a global leader in musculoskeletal care. Prior to HSS, he held senior leadership roles at Geisinger Health System and Allegheny General Hospital and was a consultant at McKinsey & Company. Today, he serves on multiple public and private company boards, including Zimmer Biomet and STERIS, and is Board Chair of PeopleOne Health, PT Solutions, and ASHN. He also serves on the boards of Team Services Group and Imagen Technologies, and is a Senior Advisor to General Atlantic.

He is the author of From Seat to Soul, a reflection on leadership, transition, and the experience of stepping away from a long-held CEO role.
