Dominick Pallone is the Executive Director of the Michigan Association of Health Plans (MAHP), a Lansing-based trade association representing health insurance companies that collectively provide coverage for more than 4 million Michiganders (Michigan Health Policy Forum, MSU; MAHP). MAHP’s mission is to provide leadership for the promotion and advocacy of high-quality, accessible, and equitable healthcare for the state’s residents. Pallone began his career in Lansing as a legislative aide to Senate Appropriations Chairwoman Shirley Johnson and later served as Chief of Staff to State Representative Marty Knollenberg, gaining nearly two decades of experience in and around the Michigan Capitol (LinkedIn; Crain’s Detroit Business). He went on to become a partner at Midwest Strategy Group, a multi-client lobbying firm, where he specialized in healthcare, state appropriations, Medicaid, higher education, transportation, and state procurement. Pallone joined MAHP as Deputy Director in 2014 and was named Executive Director in 2017. In that role, he has become one of Michigan’s leading voices on Medicaid policy, managed care, and health insurance regulation, frequently advocating for behavioral health integration and healthcare affordability before state lawmakers. He earned his bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Michigan State University’s James Madison College, where he also served on the NCAA Student-Athlete Advisory Council.
