Bill Manns
President and CEO- Bronson Healthcare
Bill Manns is president and chief executive officer of Bronson Healthcare, the largest employer and leading health system in southwest Michigan, where he oversees a four‑hospital, 100‑plus site regional network serving nine counties. He joined Bronson in 2020 with nearly three decades of healthcare leadership experience, including prior roles as president of St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor and Livingston and senior executive positions in academic and community health systems.
Born and raised in Detroit, Manns earned a bachelor’s degree in organizational psychology and a Master of Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan, grounding his leadership in both human behavior and operational science. He is known for driving LEAN and Six Sigma–based performance improvement, championing workforce engagement, and advancing equity‑focused community partnerships, including initiatives that have helped reduce Black infant mortality in Kalamazoo County.
Manns recently served as chair of the Michigan Health & Hospital Association Board of Trustees, providing statewide strategic leadership during a period of intense financial, workforce, and regulatory pressure on hospitals. He also lends his expertise on several civic and corporate boards in Michigan, where he continues to advocate for sustainable, high‑quality, and accessible health care for every community Bronson serves.
