Monique Stanton
President and CEO of the Michigan League for Public Policy
Monique Stanton is President and CEO of the Michigan League for Public Policy (MLPP), a nonpartisan
research and advocacy organization dedicated to economic opportunity and racial equity across Michigan. She was named to the role in 2021, becoming the newest CEO in the League’s 109-year history. Before joining MLPP, Stanton spent over a decade at CARE of Southeastern Michigan, serving as President and CEO from 2012 to 2020 after starting as Deputy Director in 2008, during which she tripled the agency’s budget and expanded staffing from 50 to 120 employees. Under her leadership, MLPP advances policy work on Medicaid, paid family leave, the Earned Income Tax Credit, and the state’s Kids Count project. She holds a BA in History and Communication from Aquinas College and an MA in Social Justice from Marygrove College, and is a Leadership Detroit and Leadership Macomb graduate
