Martha Thayer has established herself as a Teaching Specialist, primarily focusing on embalming, funeral arrangements, anatomy, and the psychology of grief. She is responsible for reviewing and developing the curriculum by ensuring its relevance to contemporary embalming practice and assessing the adequacy and quality of current course materials. Martha also updates course materials as necessary, incorporating the American Board of Funeral Service Education curriculum standards and student learning outcomes related to embalming theory. Additionally, she creates additional course material that will benefit the students’ learning experience. Martha is responsible for updating and revising dates for lessons, tests, quizzes, assignments, and other related activities. She creates, edits, and assists with the administration of tests, quizzes, exams, and other assignments, all developed online using Canvas. Despite completing her assigned contract work, Martha retains an email address at the University and is eager to receive new projects should one become available.
